Women's Educational Rights
In Chinese history women were kept out of school and were taught at home how to become and behave as a women. Women were treated like this on and off for years, until the People’s Republic of China. This is when women began receiving an education, not as well as men are but the gender equality is beginning to lessen (Liu, 2005). Now Chinese women make up 40% of MBA students in high ranked programs. They are also graduating from college with an undergrad at the same rate as males. Although in Chinese history, females were considered a loss to a family because she would eventually belong to her husband. Girls are taking this in to consideration; they are working hard in school to prove to their family that it was okay to have a daughter as a child and not a son.
